INTRODUCTION
Billboards are a convenient way to advertise your business in-game through the utilisation of digital graphics. You can use them not only for advertising, but also for signage, posters, and more.


TYPES OF BILLBOARDS

GOVERNMENT BILLBOARDS
Located on large billboard towers or blank displays in public spaces and Government buildings.

• An application is required!
  
• Purchase by renting the billboard, you can do this by right clicking the rental sign usually located on the back of the billboard.
  
• Your graphic must be 384 x 640 pixels exactly.
  
• Include your image in the application.
  

Below is an example of available Government billboards.



PRIVATE BILLBOARDS
Place up to 15 item frames in a square/rectangular shape on any plot you own, or have permission to place billboards on.

• An application is required!
  
• Costs $200 per item frame!
  
  
  
  • For example, if you want a 6 block tall and 3 block wide billboard, it needs to be 768 x 384 pixels. (6x128, 3x128)
    
  
  
• Include your image in the application.
  

Below is an example of a private billboard, featuring a business logo.




REQUIREMENTS
Please make sure you meet these requirements prior to applying for a private billboard, or when renting a Government billboard.

1. Your billboard content does not violate any server rules.
   
   
2. Your billboard content does not contain any content that may be of a legal liability.
   
   
   
   
   1. i.e. Slander and defamatory statements, misleading claims.
      
      
   
   
3. You have the funds to purchase the billboard.
   
   

The Department of Commerce reserves the right to deny any application on any grounds it sees fit.

Billboard Applications

FOR ECONOMISTS

REVIEWING APPLICATIONS
Any Economist is allowed to review a Billboard application. Here are the steps to do so.

1. Open the application (a very difficult step I know).
   
2. Check to see if all requirements are met as aforementioned.
   
   
   
   1. If the billboard application does not meet all requirements - deny the application stating the reason. Below are some premade denial messages, please ensure you use [denied]Your reason here.[/denied]formatting.
      
      
      
      1. [denied]Unfortunately, your private billboard application was denied due to insufficient funds, please re-apply ensuring you have $[[REPLACE THIS WITH HOW MUCH MONEY THEY NEED IN TOTAL]] in your balance.[/denied]
         
      2. [denied]Unfortunately, your private billboard application was denied due to the applied for content offending server rules. Please review the server's rules at /rules.[/denied]
         
      3. [denied]Unfortunately, your private billboard application was denied due to the applied for content posing a legal liability. Please make sure all content is not defamatory, slander, misleading and/or deceptive.[/denied]
         
      
      
   2. If the billboard application meets all requirements - accept the application like so.
      
      
      
      1. [accepted]Congratulations, your billboard application has been accepted! It will be pasted within 24-48 hours. Please open a Department of Commerce ticket on Discord if you have any queries or if your billboard content has not been pasted after 48 hours.[/accepted]
         
      
      
   
   
3. Update the application post's prefix to be Accepted or Denied accordingly. If it is denied, skip to step 5.
   
4. Paste the billboard content, you can do this through the following steps.
   
   
   
   1. Go to the location where they want their content pasted.
      
   2. If there is an old billboard present run /images remove and right click the billboard.
      
   3. Run /images download "sourceURL" "filename"
      
      
      
      1. The filename should be formatted like so: Username-YYYY-MM-DD
         
      2. If there are multiple images to process by the same player on the same date, include a number starting from 1 at the end.
         
      3. You can get the sourceURL by right clicking the image on their application, and clicking Copy Image Link.
         
      4. Example: /images download "https://democracycraft.net/images/dc-icon-white.png" "Technofied-2024-11-02-2"
         
         
         
         1. Notice how "-2" was added to the end of the filename, this is because it was Technofied's second billboard image for November 2nd, 2024.
            
         
         
      
      
   4. Run /images place filename <width> <height> +GLOW,-DROP , and right click the top left block where the billboard starts.
      
      
      
      1. The filename should be the same filename you specified in the download command earlier. It is CASE SENSITIVE!!
         
      2. Ensure that the +GLOW,-DROP values are kept- they are settings we use to ensure proper display.
         
         
         
         1. To chain flags, it's important you have a comma between them as shown in the above example.
            
         
         
      3. Size should be specified in blocks, according to height and width.
         
      4. Example: /images place Technofied-2024-11-02-2 3 4 +GLOW,-DROP
         
         
         
         1. Uses the same filename from the previous step.
            
         2. 3 4 means 3 blocks wide and 4 blocks tall.
            
         
         
      
      
   
   
5. Link your application in your private employee channel on the Department Discord server!
   

IMPORTANT: All commands are logged to both the Department and Staff - abuse will result in your termination.
